Poly Furniture

Does the furniture require assembly?

We sell our furniture as a kit. The kits are partly pre-assembled for easy setup and cost-effective shipping. Patiova furniture kits come with the hardware and tools necessary for assembly; additionally, each kit includes an assembly manual with images and written step by step instructions. The majority of our furniture kits average about 15 to 30 minutes to assemble.

Does poly furniture require maintenance?

Our poly furniture doesn’t need any maintenance, except for cleaning. Recycled poly material is resistant to fading, cracking, warping, rotting, and cleans easily with just water and dish soap. A plastic bristled brush pairs well with the dish soap to clean the poly furniture.

Does poly furniture fade?

All of our poly recycled plastic lumber products have in them compounded Ultra-Violet (UV) stabilizers. This process protects the color and integrity of the base resin and resists fading for years to come.

Can my poly products be stained or painted?

Stains and paint will not adhere to our poly products.

Is the product slippery when wet?

Patiova poly lumber products are not any more slippery than painted or sealed wood. We do have a wood grain or knurled embossed finish for high traffic applications that will improve friction for the intended use.

Will your poly lumber materials expand and contract with temperature changes?

Yes, thermal expansion and contraction are a fact of life for all materials and naturally occurring phenomena. Resin-based products such as our recycled poly lumber products will exhibit predictable thermal expansion and contraction.

Will the color and finish of each piece of plastic lumber be “exactly” the same?

TANGENT, the largest capacity manufacturer of certified recycled poly lumber, is the best in the industry at controlling color in our process. They make the poly lumber with much attention to the manufacturer’s consistency, so our craftsmen can select and build a more uniform product.

What is the benefit of poly furniture?

The benefits of poly furniture are endless. Poly furniture can be left outside all year round due to its ability to withstand all elements. Poly will never rot, split, or crack and is known to hold its color for decades.
